Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

Since I made a real journal imo.

It's 2:21am, I still have homework to do. Though I could have used the past two hours I spent on a picture doing it. Oh well, I didn't really plan on sleeping tonight anyway

So, er, kinda overworked right now. I cut a deal with my mom that ended with me having to do a ridiculous amount of homework over the past days. Though that is completely my fault.

Also I just realized I should post more original art, lack of that is mainly due to schoolwork, doing stuff for others and me going complete adhd and not finishing any of my recent things. In the past six days or so I must have started 6 or so things that will never get done. I swear over break I will do at least 2 original pictures. If I don't, feel free to throw internet rocks at me.

Speaking of winter break, I have a week and two days off starting Friday which will be fun.

will be chilling here Friday-Monday which is going to be SO. MUCH. FUN. <3. Also my uncle and his girlfriend will be visiting from England the entire week and we'll go skiing at some point.
